Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower] Empty Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower]

Post by Hidan Tue Apr 07, 2009 3:34 pm

    Basic Information

    Name: Hidan
    Age: 22
    Gender: Male
    Religion: Jashin

    Looks:

    Hidan has two distinct looks:

    Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower] Hidan10
    1) His normal look is of a handsome unmarked Nin in his early twenties with swept back white shoulder length hair and pale purple eyes. He has fair skin and wears a golden necklace with the symbol of Jashin either over his chest his front or around one of his wrists. He wears the scored symbol of his home village of Yugakure around his neck, black shinobi pants, combat sandals and over the top the large high collared black and red cloak of the Akatsuki open half way down his chest to reveal much of the upper part of his body

    Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower] Jashin11
    2) During the ritual he takes on a horrific guise. His skin is covered in black and white ritual symbols making him look less human and more like a living breathing undead being. His clothes do not change though he does sometimes take one arm out of his cloak to reveal more his black and white body to make him seem more intimidating

Hidan has a weapons pouch strapped to his right leg as well as some on his waist containing the usual collection of Kunai, Shuriken, Explosive tags etc and a needle in thread in case of emergencies. These are hidden behind his Akatsuki cloak. He also carries a number of sharpened black metal blades he uses primarily as part of his ritual which like the equipment remain unseen under the cloak normally. Last but not least he has a very large 3 bladed scythe with a 30 ft chain attached to one end strapped to his back that is almost as long as he is tall. Its massive size and blood red blades make him stand out in a crowd.

    Personality:
In one word Hidan is a Jackass. In several Hidan is an arrogant egotistical intolerant foul mouthed fanatical sadomasochist. Hidan has few redeeming qualities. He is rude by nature frequently using expletives and never using honorifics except where Jashin is concerned even towards people clearly stronger then himself such as Pain. He has a tendency to drone on endlessly about his God, whom seems to be the only thing he is concerned about, while he has a flippant uncaring attitude to pretty much everything else from money, to goals beyond the next sacrifice. He was also exceedingly arrogant rarely using any Jutsu save his rituals and believing his immortality will always seem him through in the end. Only a sense of humour made him even barely tolerable. In short if Hidan wasn’t so useful and hard to kill the chances are the Akatsuki would have turned on him long ago.

There are points in every person’s life that change them fundamentally and in Hidan’s case his defeat and near destruction at the hands of Shikamaru was just such a major turning point. Whether it was the hopelessness of his plight or simply that being a severed head covered in rubble gave one a great deal of time to reflect on things, either way when Hidan finally emerged his tomb he was changed man in more ways then one. The arrogance and pride that had once been prominent aspects of his character had been stripped away after considering how completely he had been defeated by a Nin with not half his strength, how truly weak he was without his gifts, how dependant he had become of them. He had taken a long hard look at himself and rather then seeing an unbeatable servant of Jashin he found himself wanting. At first he spluttered revenge against Shikamaru and tried to ignore the growing uncertainty that was forming in the back of his mind. He tried to convince himself it was a freak accident but the more he thought about it the more he realised how truly he had failed.

The new Hidan while essentially the same is a world away from the one that was destroyed by Shikamaru. Far more cautious and thoughtful, he stills considers his relationship with Jashin special but no longer demeans the heathens or their goals. Arrogance and all that comes with it has been replaced with humility of sorts. His sense of humour and rudeness remain relatively unchanged, some things never do change but he has grown more respectful of his peers and superiors after considering his own faults. Hidan no longer relies simply on rituals to kill his foes and has rededicated himself to improving his skills and broadening his range of abilities. All in all the new Hidan is a quieter, more cautious individual and all the more dangerous as a result. He is still a sadist with no morals but now he is a careful one. As for Shikamaru while Hidan fully intends to return the favour if he ever encounters him, it is testament to how far he has changed that he doesn’t look to immediately seek revenge and will not foolishly strike where the odds in not his favour. Hidan has finally learned a lesson most Nin pick up early in the careers, the value of defeat and he’s the stronger for it.

    History And Roleplay Sample
    History:
    Pre Akatsuki

Hidan hails from Yugakure no Sato. Little is known about his early life other then that Yu deteriorated from a shinobi village into little more then a tourist site and Hidan became infuriated with how things were turning out. He believed that the shinobi that resided there were meant to kill, and thus slaughtered his neighbors before leaving Yu and joining the cult-like faith known as Jashin, a religion that worshiped an evil deity obsessed with human sacrifice of the same name. The primary teaching of this faith is the outright slaughter of all those who get in the Disciples way, where anything less than utter destruction is considered a sin. The Disciple of Jashin lived solely to kill in their Dark God’s name. Hidan got caught up in the cult and soon rose to prominence. Hidan has an amulet around his neck is a symbol of Jashin and he used it to pray to his god before battling, requesting a good kill, or (when he was not allowed to) for forgiveness. Eventually he joined Akatsuki, supposedly after slaughtering the rest of the cult members for heresy, and was partnered with Kakuzu since their abilities mesh well. His reasons for joining was that as a member he would have ample opportunities to carry on his religious duties and to kill in Jashin’s name.

    Hunting down Yugito Nii

Hidan first task, along with his partner Kakuzu, was to hunt down the Jinchuriki Yugito Nii, host of the 2 tailed demon cat. The hunt was long and not without complications but they eventually corned her in the sewers deep under Kumogakure. Initially, Hidan offered Yugito the option of surrender, stating his faith did not allow him to fight an opponent only to leave them half-dead since the task was to capture her not kill her. However Yugito refused his offer and transformed herself into her demonic form, but the Akatsuki duo still managed to defeat her and gave her body to Zetsu before they continued to the Land of fire

    Hunting down Naruto Uzumaki

    Assault on the Fire Temple

Upon arrival in the Land of Fire, Hidan begrudgingly joined Kakuzu in attacking a temple so that they could collect the bounty on the head monk, Chiriku. The monk and his numerous subordinates were defeated and slaughtered, and Hidan repeated his lengthy ritual. Afterward, Hidan traveled with Kakuzu to take the monk's body to the nearest bounty station.

    Encounter at the Bounty Station

Reaching the bounty station, Hidan opted to stay outside, not liking the fact the station was hidden inside a lavatory that smelled particularly foul. While he waited for Kakuzu to collect the money, Hidan was ambushed by Asuma Sarutobi’s squad which included at the time Shikamaru Nara, Izumo Kamizuki and Kotetsu Hagane. Despite being immobilized and stabbed in the chest by two large kunai, Hidan surprised the Konoha ninja by simply asking who they are.

Kakuzu soon arrived, forcing Hidan's assailants to fall back. Instructing Kakuzu to leave the battle to him, Hidan exchanged blows with Asuma, eventually succeeding in obtaining some blood and initiating his curse. Not realizing what Hidan had done, Asuma charged and fell over in pain when Hidan stabs himself in the leg. As Hidan prepared to kill Asuma, Shikamaru, realizing what was going on, again immobilized Hidan, but had difficulty maintaining his hold. While Hidan was momentarily restrained, Shikamaru analyzed everything Hidan has said and done up to that point, eventually figuring out the weakness of Hidan's technique. With that, Shikamaru managed to force Hidan from the safety of his symbol, temporarily releasing Asuma from Hidan's curse.

Freed, Asuma proceeded to decapitate Hidan. To the leaf ninjas' horror, Hidan's severed head loudly cursed at Asuma for doing so and Kakuzu for not stopping them. Kakuzu casually shrugged this off as he felt it was Hidan's fault for telling him to not interfere. While Asuma and the others stood shocked by Hidan's survival, Kakuzu reattached Hidan's head to his body. As Kakuzu dealt with Izumo and Kotetsu, Hidan re-entered his symbol and, once more, linked himself to Asuma. Hidan swung his scythe at Asuma, only for Asuma to duck and the scythe to bury into Hidan's own vital organs. Asuma doubled over with pain, and as Shikamaru rushed to Asuma's aid, Hidan used the opportunity to stab himself through the heart with his pike, which fatally injured Asuma.

Reinforcements from Konoha arrived as Asuma collapsed on the verge of death. Although Hidan expressed interest in getting to kill them as well, the Akatsuki leader called him and Kakuzu away. Angry and promising to kill the Konoha ninja later, Hidan left with Kakuzu to a secluded area, where they spent three days sealing the demon cat and another three days sealing the 3 tailed Demon which subdued by Itachi and Kisame.

    Shikamaru’s Ambush

Once the sealing is over, Hidan and his partner, Kakuzu, headed for Konoha, eager to locate Naruto, kill the Konoha Nin from earlier and in Hidan’s case continue the bloodshed. Along the way, the two are again ambushed by Shikamaru, the latter having waited for them. Although Kakuzu managed to escape from Shikamaru's shadow, Hidan was left under Shikamaru's control and is forced to fight Kakuzu.
When Kakuzu was apparently killed by Kakashi Hayate, Kakashi prepared to finish Hidan as well, but was repelled by the still living Kakuzu. Freed from Shikamaru's shadow due to its inherent time limit, Hidan charged at Kakashi while Kakuzu fired blasts of elemental attacks at the two. Recognizing the two Akatsuki were too powerful as a pair and needed to be separated, Shikamaru volunteered to draw the immortal away. Hidan, having been trapped by Shikamaru's technique so many times, was determined not to fall prey to it again and made sure to avoid the shadows. In doing so, Hidan mocked Shikamaru for fighting in a sneaky and distant manner. While focusing on the shadow attacks, Hidan didn't notice Shikamaru suddenly appearing close enough to stun him with a punch to the face. As a result, he was trapped by Shikamaru's shadow and was led away by him.

Hidan was led towards an area that is surrounded with wire and exploding tags, which Shikamaru had prepared in advance. However, Hidan had no desire to escape, and he attacked Shikamaru when the shadow jutsu wears off, and it appeared as though he has acquired some of Shikamaru's blood. Quickly drawing his symbol and transforming, Hidan seemingly killed Shikamaru. Once Hidan departed, the fallen leaf ninja jumped up, still alive, and tried to decapitate Hidan from behind, although failing to make a cut deep enough. Surprised that Shikamaru was alive, Hidan learns he has been tricked into consuming Kakuzu's blood, so he, in effect, destroyed one of Kakuzu's hearts.

As Hidan attempted to kill Shikamaru in retaliation, Hidan was again stopped by Shikamaru's shadow. With Hidan restrained, Shikamaru covered Hidan with the surrounding exploding tags, tying Hidan to the spot. With Hidan unable to move, Shikamaru activated a prepared mark to cause the ground beneath Hidan to break away. He then informed Hidan that the land that they're on belongs to his clan and that they would ensure that Hidan remained bound to it for eternity. Finally, having a chance to avenge Asuma's death, Shikamaru lit a cigarette and tossed it at Hidan, causing the exploding tags to detonate. Hidan was literally blown to bits. As Hidan's remains fell into the pit below his detached head promised to kill Shikamaru in any way possible. Shikamaru caused the pit to collapse, trapping the screaming Hidan beneath the rubble. As Hidan was required to periodically kill to retain his immortality Hidan was subsequently written off as deceased.

    A Second Chance

Hidan should have died in that dark rubble filled hole, a talking dismembered corpse living on borrowed time. He had a little over 3 weeks before he needed to do the ritual again and if he hadn’t healed before then his immortality and with it his life would be stripped away. For first week he raged in immense pain and anger, swearing to hack shikamaru into bits and then dance upon his mutilated corpse. However even Hidan’s anger, rage, bloodlust and arrogance began to wear away as time passed. Time or at least its passage has always been a subjective thing, sometimes an hour can seem to pass in a few minutes or visa versa. To Hidan swamped in pain and blackness unable to sleep or rest time seemed to stop. Every moment felt like an eternity and as he begun to lose track of time so he began to fear that his own destruction was close at hand. It’s strange what extreme circumstances or life changing moments can do to someone and 10ft below the ground the disembodied head that was Hidan began to change. Isolated from the world and enshrined in darkness Hidan had a great amount of time to reflect. Reflect on his life, his God, his devotion, his impending doom but most of all on his defeat. He tried to convince himself he simply had been unlucky, that victory had been snapped from him by the jaws of fate but soon this arrogance died as the chilling realisation of his inadequacy hit him. He had outsmarted and soundly beaten by a bloody Chuunin of all people. The one thought soon turned into a conviction as he began to consider that he was not as strong as he thought. Reliving the fight over and over again in his mind he saw how blind his arrogance made him and felt insecurity and doubts grip his psyche. He still felt Jashin even buried under this mass, he had not been abandoned yet. He felt his anger but most of all he felt his God’s contempt, his Disciple had been defeated and the very thought of Jashin’s disapproval shock him in a way death could never have. A decade of arrogance was all but wiped out in this one clear thought. For the first time he felt he deserved this fate, for if he could not appease his master how could he not. His hatred and anger dissolved away as he realized his loss was less the Chuunin and more his own limitations, how his dependency on immortality and the ritual made him weak and dependant. Shikamaru had not so much won, he had lost, after all had he truly been prepared and seen past his own shortcomings the Nin should have not been able to challenge him. He resolved that if ever escaped he would seek to become stronger and wiser. Once bitten, twice shy he resolved never to repeat his mistakes. Even so he was beginning to accept he would not in all likelihood survive his last one.

That’s when he heard the thud of footsteps above braking what seem to be his eternal ponderings and the muffled sound of voices. Praising Jashin Hidan shouted up:

    “Halt”

The footsteps stopped then a barely audible “who’s there” was heard followed by “Show yourself”. Old Hidan would have doubtless made a joke at their expense letting this golden opportunity slip through his fingers, the changed Hidan wasn’t going to make the mistake. Keeping his voice calm and focused he replied asking for something his old self would have scoffed at

“I am below you. I am in need of your help”

    “Below us?”

“Yes about 10ft below you buried under a pile of rocks. I need you to dig me out”

The unseen strangers were silent for so long he thought they had gone off but being a tad suspicious they were wondering if the voice was a trap, so only after surveying the area and finding no other Nin they decided to respond with the eternal question.

    “What’s in it for us?”

To be expected really, everything has a price. Now at this point old Hidan would properly have gone off into some rant but that Hidan was dead. The new cautious Hidan had already planned for this eventuality and just hoped neither those damn leaf Nin had taken it or Kakuzu recovered it. Ironically Kakuzu love of money might save his hide this time.

“Head east 750 yards and you will come to a rocky plateau full of odd spires, the battle damage is a sure sign you have reached the spot. In a hollow on the third or second tree to the right you will find a case. The contents are yours. Another case will be yours once you have dug me up”

It seemed like another year before he heard footsteps again telling him they had found the bounty they had acquire at the stinking drop point, hidden shortly after they had been ambushed. There were so few things you could count on in this world beside Jashin but money and the hunger to acquire it was one of them

    “Another case you said?”

“Indeed. All you need to do is spend an hour digging and you will all be rich men”

Hidan smiled for the first time in an age as he heard the scraping of rock above. Soon the mercs would learn the folly of their greed.

Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower] Empty Re: Hidan (Akatsuki) [Jashin Follower]

Post by Hidan Tue Apr 07, 2009 3:35 pm

It was about 20 minutes before one of Nin above came across the first body part, his left foot and shouted:

“By Kami what the hell is this? It looks like someone’s left a foot behind”

Hidan knew this was going to be problematic, they will doubtless find many more bits before the day was out and he would need them to reassemble him. This would need a careful approach

“By the Sounds of it you have found a piece of me. Place it carefully on the side along with any other bits you find. You will find many more”

“You’re in bits? WTF You have got to be kidding me? How the hell are you still alive?”

“I will tell you when you finish getting me out, perhaps I might even show you the Jutsu involved. It saved my life a number of times. Of course the sooner you are finished the sooner I can show you, the sooner you can get paid and the sooner I can get on my way”

It must have taken a moment to sink in as they stopped briefly but after seeing no other reason he could be alive and yet in pieces they ploughed on though one asked:

“That’s one hell of a Jutsu and you could show us?” Hidan could sense the eagerness in the voice and pushed on

“Yes. It is and yes I would be more then happy to show you. Though to so I must be whole once more, unfortunately the Jutsu does not allow me to reassemble myself. If you sew the bits you find together. I will throw in a third case of money and teach the Jutsu. A fair bargain don’t you think?”

Some muttering could be heard before the leader replied:

“Done but if we find your lying we going to chop you back up and feed you to the wolves”

“Then we are agreed” Hidan said in a formal manner. Soon they would learn that keeping oaths wasn’t his strong point and that if anyone was going to be cutting around here it was going to be him.

It took longer then expected but soon enough Hidan was more or less sewn back together. He was still in great pain but more importantly he was alive and had a body. As for the Nin 3 corpses were slumped on the ground in a pool of their own blood. Well something’s about his character never change and he was overdue on the ritual anyway. By the time the Nin realised their mistaking in helping reconstruct him it was to late and killing them had been pathetically simple. The severe wounds would take some time to heal completely perhaps up to a month given their nature but like everything they would heal and fade much like his arrogance.

He considered heading straight back to base to greet his former associates but he realised that though he had conceded that he was too dependant on certain techniques his own rang of Jutsu was not exactly extensive, he knew some from his time in Yu but since becoming a follower of Jashin his arrogance had stymied any further development. He need to be stronger if he was truly to fulfil his role, his defeat had told him that much. He would need a far greater range if he was to achieve the kinds of slaughter his master expected.

Looking at the slain leader of the Missing Nin he realised he need information and a dark ritual long ignore came to mind. It was even more powerful then the regular ritual allowing him to resurrect those he had slain to serve him once more a powerful technique but one his own arrogance and love of bloodshed meant had been quietly shelved. He was too arrogant to believe such help was needed and did not like the idea of anyone even a tool he controlled taking his kills and so had only used it a couple of times. Stabbing his leg with one of his black blades he let the blood drip down and moving his limb drew out the symbol of Jashin before slamming his palm down in the manner of the summoning technique before thinking the recently deceased Nin’s name. A hellfire insignia erupted nearby and from it appeared a fully restored version of the dead Nin, exactly the same but for the symbol of Jashin on his forehead. Turning to him with the cruel smile of his Hidan asked:

“Tell me what you were doing here and about what you know of the disposition of local forces?”

The man lack back with hatred and resigned acceptance and began to speak. Hidan noted the ritual would be more useful then he had imagined. With it he could learn a great many things, Jutsu included. Perhaps a trip to the Water and Lightning Countries was in order. An opportunity to gets the kinks out so to speak and when he was ready he would return

For 6 months Hidan travelled through the Water and Lightning Nations murdering in the name of Jashin and then forcing the raised corpse of his victims to teach him new abilities. None of them were exactly powerful Nin but his own arsenal grew immeasurably. Once he was happy he was no longer entirely dependant on the rituals, more powerful and cunning then ever he returned to base to greet his peers and aid the Akutsuki once more. With any luck he would get to face Shikamaru again and this time he would not be the one in pieces.

    Roleplay Sample:
This was it, The legendary island of the missing ninja, Bachiatari no Sato. "Wow it really is a shithole" Hidan said to himself as he arrived at the Harbor of the island. Hidan was dripping wet from getting to the island. He had killed a small squadron of missing ninja, three sacrifices to the almighty Jashin god. Because of his immortality that he once again received from killing the three rogues Hidan was able to walk on the bottom of the ocean to the island of Bachiatari no Sato without dieing.

Hidan was freezing when he arrived. "I hate cold water" yelled Hidan as he kicked over a barrel of oil that split all over the Harbor. Hidan laughed as people slipped over and a crowd began surrounding him. "What the hell are you doing?" yelled one man. "Who does he think he is" yelled another. "Get Him" said another as a crowd of people began charging at Hidan. Hidan smirked as he withdrew his Jashin scythe that was placed in a holster on his back. Hidan let it swing to the ground, grasping the handle making the scythe come to a sudden stop only inches away from the ground. A drop of blood hit the ground that fell off the one of the three tips of the Jashin blade. The crowd suddenly stopped at the sight of the deadly weapon. "Oops I forgot to clean it" Hidan said as he brought the tip of the scythe up to his mouth. Hidan licked the blood of the tip in one slow motion. "HAHAHAHA" he laughed. "What a freak" yelled a man as Hidan's laugh come to a sudden halt. "What did you say?" Hidan said dropping his blade back down as he started walking towards the crowd. Hidan was outraged at the man's remarks so Hidan felt obliged to bring the rogue to justice.

Hidan's scythe all of a sudden extended revealing a chain attaching to the bottom of it. Hidan threw his scythe into the crowd only hitting and killing one person. The scythe lodged itself into the ground. "Get Him"
yelled the crowd as the charged at Hidan once again. Hidan smirked knowing what was in store as he flicked he wrist back again as the scythe dislodged itself from the ground flying back killing the majority of the crowd. Blood and Body Parts were flying everywhere and this made Hidan very delighted."I'm going to like it hear" Hidan muttered to himself as the scythe hit his hand and once again came to a halt. "I feel like getting my hands dirty for a change" said Hidan as he hoisted his arm into the air and brought it back down at a fast speed lodging the scythe back into the ground.

Hidan started walking towards the remainder of the rogues. "C'mon Freak" one of them yelled as he began charging at Hidan. "You asshole!" yelled Hidan as he began charging at the man. Hidan had ducked the man's punch and tripped the man at such a strength it broke the rogues leg. "Die asshole" said hidan as he slapped a explosive tag right on the rogues head. Three more rogues began charging trying to save the man with the explosive tag on his leg. "Hmmm you must be there leader" Hidan said to the man who was almost passed out due to the pain of his broken leg. Hidan knelt down as put his hands on the mans ankles, pushing extra hard on his right leg, knowing it was broken. The man moaned in pain as Hidan lifted the man slightly. The three rogues were still charging at Hidan. "You want him, you can have him" said Hidan as he began spinning around at a fast pace, spinning around the man by the legs. When Hidan got the man spinning fast enough he let go of his legs causing him to fly at the three rogues. Hidan pulled the Tiger Handsign as the man's explosive tag activated. "Oh you mother...." The man exploded into the three rogues before he could finish his sentence.

"Hahaha" Hidan laughed as he walked back over to his scythe and dislodged it from the ground placing it back into the holster on his back. Hidan began walking through the carnage. Fire,Dead Bodies and Blood. There was Carnage everywhere. Hidan walked through it towards the main city as people just stared at him not saying a word, nobody wanted to deal with the horrific rogue anymore, not after seeing him destroy and kill a gang of twenty or so rogues, all Chuunin or above ranked.

Hidan enjoyed his first day on Bachiatari no Sato, he hoped he would cause carnage like this everyday he spent on this island.
